Visit Brouwershaven

The small city of Brouwershaven, located on the most northern island in Zeeland, Schouwen-Duiveland, can proudly look back on a rich maritime history. It was both a harbour for the transfer of goods and a home base for fishermen. However, not only commerce and fishery determined the image of the harbour. Between 1838 and 1870 Brouwershaven was one of the busiest harbours in Holland. The Delta Plan closed the route to the North Sea and the trade and fishery disappeared from Brouwershaven. Nowadays, the harbour is a marina, but the old harbour is still situated in the middle of the city.

Brouwershaven is a unique year-round destination for tourists. Especially in summer the city has a lot to offer. The city centre has beautiful monuments and a strikingly big church.
