The tranquil village of Stellendam is situated on the north-east side of the island of Goeree-Overflakkee. Stellendam is the newest village on the island.

Expo Haringvliet Following the disastrous floods of 1953, it was decided to close off the Haringvliet from the North Sea by means of a sluice complex. The complex is one kilometer long and was completed in 1970.
