The harbour at Kilmore Quay has berths for craft on pontoons that are set back into the harbour away from the entrance. The harbour has undergone major development with facilities ashore and can now boast to be an ideal port of refuge for pleasure craft of all types and has become a fashionable and regular destination for all cruising enthusiasts. The port co-exists between the marina users and that of the local fishing community and is managed by the local county council.
A small rural fishing village situated in the south-east corner of Ireland, it is located 22km from Wexford town and just 19km from the ferry port at Rosslare Harbour. The village has character and atmosphere, notable a row of thatched cottages and neat, white-washed houses, most of which have stood undisturbed for more than two centuries.
Kilmore Quay has a reputation as an angling centre that goes back to the turn of the century. It is also a fabulous place for the keen diver as the area from Hook Head to Carnsore Point has long been known as the graveyard of a thousand ships.
The village offers to the visitors a 'green' approach to its environment as many of the features so prominent in the area are dimensions of historical and natural significance - Ballyteigue Castle, Grange Cemetery, St. Patrick's Bridge, Ballyteigue Borrow (for its flora and fauna importance) and of course the Saltee Islands which have one of the leading bird sanctuaries in Ireland.
