Situated on an estuary, Malahide marina is a few miles north of Dublin City and airport and is the perfect location from which to enjoy sailing the waters of the Irish Sea and to admire this scenic stretch of Irish coastline.
The marina has good shelter and visitors can berth at pontoon 'F'. However the approach channel has constantly changing depths due to drying sandbanks. One of the largest marinas on the east coast with over 350 fully serviced berths located in a well-protected inlet, vessels of up to 75m can be accommodated. In addition the marina has an on-site 280-seater restaurant & bar, 'Cruzzo' which overlooks the marina and is ideal for those with 'sail in company' activities in mind. The marina is also home to a chandlery/boating shop and several other retail outlets.
Set in a picturesque area north of Dublin, Malahide has character and is designated as a heritage town. The demesne at Malahide Castle, around which the town developed, was home to the Talbots from the 12th to the 20th century and is now a major visitor attraction. The bijou town is very attractively laid-out with streets radiating from the central diamond lined with colourful shops, merging with terraces of graceful homes and neat gardens. Market gardens dominate the rich hinterland and as a result much of the food served in the towns is home-grown and locally produced.
Coastal walks with panoramic views of three offshore islands form the local seascape scenery. For those interested in wildfowl the beaches, estuaries and islands of Fingal support a wide variety of wildfowl. The estuary is a haven for wildlife
