Ramsgate town centre has everything to suit the taste and appetites of cosmopolitan shoppers. Antiques or modern art, fashion or fresh fruit and veg, kitchenware or evening wear – you’ll find it all here among a wide selection of national, independent or specialist names. Most of the shops are set within a delightful pedestrian precinct that spreads along parts of the High Street, King Street, Queen Street and Harbour Street with some very attractive cobbled paving. On Fridays there are even more chances to browse and buy as one of the county’s largest weekly markets spreads its wares along the streets. The town is also home to a fantastic variety of restaurants, wine bars, cafes and public houses. Away from the bustle of the streets with their echoes of panpipes and footfall of busy shoppers, are two refurbished courtyards – Albert Court and Charlotte Court. Although only a few seconds walk from the main thoroughfare, they offer the chance of rest and relaxation before you take on the town or make your way to the glorious harbour.
